Biofibre hair transplant is an effective hair restoration procedure for patients who have diffuse thinning or do not have a sufficient amount of healthy hair for a conventional hair transplant. The surgery is performed using synthetic nylon fibers that are similar to natural hair in appearance and texture.
This treatment has an immediate effect and is faster to heal than a regular hair transplant.

What is Biofibre Hair Transplant in Turkey?
Biofibre hair implant in Turkey is an excellent alternative to conventional hair transplant. It is less invasive and is cheaper than a regular hair transplant since there is no need to extract the hair from the donor area before the implantation.
The procedure uses synthetic fibres implanted into the scalp to replace lost hair. In our Bookmedi clinic in Turkey the fibres come in a variety of colours and textures, so there is a suitable type of biofibre for most people.
The biofibre can’t be dyed or reshaped after implantation, nor do they grow with time, so it is important to choose the most suitable biofiber before treatment. Currently, thirteen colours of biofiber come in four different textures: straight, wavy, curly and afro. The fibres are available in lengths of fifteen, thirty or forty-five centimetres.
While natural hair consists of keratin, modern biofiber is made from smooth polyamide, which is biocompatible with scalp tissue. Nevertheless, as this treatment involves implanting foreign materials into the skin, around five per cent of patients have an adverse reaction to biofibers.
To make the implanted hair look voluminous, the doctors may use high-density biofibers. This type has three separate threads that come from a single “follicle”, but it is only suitable for implanting into the crown area. But even regular biofiber is denser than natural hair, though. One hundred biofiber threads can mimic the density of three hundred natural hairs.
What is the Procedure For Biofibre Hair Transplant in Turkey?
The biofibre hair transplant Turkey procedure is very similar to the DHI or FUE hair transplant. The main difference is that there is no need to extract the hair grafts before implantation. But as there is a chance that the body will reject the foreign materials of artificial hair, the doctors will implant about a hundred threads to check for a possible polyamide allergy. If there are no allergic reactions after a week and a half after this initial test, then the patient is eligible for surgery.
The first step of the biofiber implantation treatment is applying local anaesthesia to the scalp.
Then, the doctor makes incisions in the skin, where the “follicles” of biofiber will be implanted. As biofiber is a synthetic material, the incisions must be deeper than the ones made during a regular hair transplant so the implanted threads will be securely attached to the scalp. But because the fibres are thinner than natural hair with the root, the incisions heal faster.
After making the incisions, the doctor will implant the biofibers. The fibres are implanted using a hooked needle, making a knot at the end of the thread to keep it in place. The knot is made to allow the extraction of the biofiber when needed, so biofiber implantation is a fully reversible treatment.
The doctors will implant about a thousand fibres in one session of the treatment. If the patient requires more fibres to achieve the best effect, they will need to have several sessions divided by intervals of a few weeks to allow their scalp to heal.
As the implanted threads are synthetic, the doctors will prescribe antibiotics. The patient should take them until their scalp heals, as there is a high chance of getting dermatitis or another type of inflammation otherwise.
Who is Eligible For Biofiber?
Synthetic hair transplant Turkey is a suitable treatment for men and women who have hair loss caused by alopecia or physical trauma. It is particularly effective for people who do not have enough healthy natural hair for a conventional hair transplant or who are completely bald. It is also suitable for people who want to see immediate results of their hair transplant, as the implanted hair does not need to grow, as is the case with a regular FUE implant.
People who do not pass the initial test for allergic reactions to polyamide are not eligible for this treatment, as are people with life-threatening diseases and conditions that impede healing.
Is BioFibre Hair Transplant Effective?
Biofibre implants have a high success rate of more than 90%. The results of the transplantation procedure are immediately visible, and most people tolerate the treatment well.
The implanted biofibers are not permanent. The polyamide shrinks with use, and the patients lose about fifteen per cent of implanted threads each year on average. To maintain the best results, the doctors recommend returning to the clinic every year to have touch-up treatments.
Recovery and Results Of Biofibre Hair Transplant in Bookmedi
The biofibre transplant requires minimal time to heal, and the patient can return to their normal life immediately after the treatment. But you must be aware that the threads will need about three weeks to connect to the scalp and are easy to remove before that. The doctor will prescribe medicine that will help the transplant heal faster.
When the patient gets a biofibre hair implant, they can see the results right after the surgery, as the fibres do not need time to grow.
The Advantages of Biofibre Hair Transplant in Turkey

What Are The Side Effects Of Biofibre Hair Transplant in Turkey?

FAQ

Is Biofibre Hair Implant Safe?
The fibres used for this type of transplant are biocompatible and typically do not result in any complications, but some people can have allergic reactions to polyamide, which can lead to inflammations.
-
Does Biofibre Hair Grow?
Unlike natural hair follicles used for a conventional hair implant, biofiber is a synthetic hair replacement, so it can’t grow.
-
How Long Does Biofibre Result Last?
Patients lose up to twenty-five per cent of implanted biofibres a year after the treatment, so it is recommended to get a new transplant every year to maintain its aesthetic value.
